THE LITTLES

THE LITTLE'S

(AKA) THE GREAT GRAND'S

The first three “Littles” were born about five months apart.
Grandma snuggled two before she did depart.
They were full of wiggles, like most “Littles” are.
To quiet them, they went for a ride in the car.

It was only a short time until two more came on by.
And Grandpa wanted to hold them, so he gave it a try.
A tear rolled down his cheek, he said I have something in my eye.
Could holding your Great Grand Kids cause you to cry?

Their group name has become "The Little's" it seems.
They grow so fast, sometimes I think they are just dreams.
Great Grandpa, ponders sometimes, how time goes so slow,
But changes his mind, when he sees how fast the "greats" grow.

We have a get together every now and then.
The only way to control the “Littles” would be in a pen.
They run and they jump, they yell and they scream.
Is this really happening, or is it a dream?

Then I think back one generation and it was the same,
And I remember the teen ager’s as along they came.
Then one generation more become Mom’s and Dad’s.
It goes on and on, it never stops, and I am glad.

It is fun to watch personalities change with age,
As they get older you may not need to have a cage.
They do not seem to have an identified BOSS,
A Director perhaps, but not usually cross.

It is strange how each one is so different it seems?
There is the fixer, the sharer and one who has dreams.
There is always the pusher, who pushes Mom and Dad,
The attention craver, the shy one and one who never gets Mad.

Life goes on, and so do the Little’s
The next generation will hold them and tell riddles.
The “Little’s” will have “Littles” but I will be gone.
I hope I can still watch them as they play on the lawn.
